Tems, aka Temilade Openiyi, is a musician from Nigeria, who, with only a handful of releases including her breakthrough single Mr Rebel, is generating an international fan base, affectionately known as the ‘Rebel Gang’.

Her single Try Me, released in August 2019, which Tems calls ‘a breakout song’ for the ‘oppressed’, continued the momentum, despite the adversity faced in an industry where she claims people ‘don’t take you seriously’ as a woman until they see you work. Falling in love with music aged 11, Tems has since perfected her songwriting and production, and studied her influences including Frank Ocean, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Beyoncé and Rihanna, to become one of Nigeria’s most promising up and coming talents.
